Double Dutch debuts new mixers and can redesign

Tonic and mixer producer Double Dutch has revamped its canned range and launched several new products.

Double Dutch has added four new products to its canned range

The canned lineup now includes four new products: Soda Water, Ginger Ale, Elderflower, and Double Lemon.

They join existing canned mixers including Indian Tonic Water, Skinny Tonic Water, Pink Grapefruit Soda, Cucumber & Watermelon Soda, and Ginger Beer.

The refresh was made in ‘response to a greater demand for the cans with new listings in the on-trade’, Double Dutch said.

The redesign for the 150ml cans is described as ‘bold, vibrant and flavour-led with a more refined premium finish’. The refreshed can design includes visual cues that reflect each flavour’s origin, ingredients and production. A recurring elephant motif nods to the Indian heritage of tonic water.

The new look follows a redesign for Double Dutch’s 200ml bottles last summer that allowed for better carbonation retention.

Founder Raissa de Haas said: “The expansion of the can range is driven by increasing demand across both the on-trade and retail sectors. Cans offer greater flexibility for venues, airlines and at-home consumers alike, supporting single-serve mixed drinks, events, and premium ready-to-drink occasions.”

The new range will be available via Amazon, with listings expected to roll out imminently.

Last month, Double Dutch changed the name of its Riviera Tonic Water to ‘broaden the product’s world beyond a geographic reference’.

Twin sisters Joyce and Raissa de Haas founded UK-based Double Dutch in 2015.

In June 2020, the Heineken family acquired a minority stake in Double Dutch.

On The Spirits Business Podcast last year, the founders discussed strategic growth, their recent rebrand, and why more VC funding for women-founded businesses is imperative.
