Alchemist adds self-mixing cocktail to new menu

UK bar chain The Alchemist has unveiled a cocktail menu built around a lineup of shareable serves.

The Infinity Vortex is a self-mixing cocktail featuring Johnnie Walker Blue Label

The new drinks list, which is available across all of The Alchemist’s UK venues, includes a range of shareable serves designed to ‘stand proudly’ on the table and cater for groups of two or more.

Highlights include The Globe, which is poured from a single vessel and split into two separate glasses for pairs to enjoy. It is crafted with Grey Goose vodka, dark berries, violette, rose, apple and citrus and is priced at £28 (US$38).

Meanwhile, for a larger group, the XO Café Matcha Board is a shareable set of six layered shots that combine XO Café Patrón, Patrón Silver Tequila, and matcha cream. It is priced at £42 (US$57).

Priced at £20 (US$27), the High Voltage is described as an ‘electrifying cocktail experience’, with strawberry and Szechuan peppercorn-infused Courvoisier VSOP, Grand Marnier, strawberry and balsamic, and blackberry shrub and lemon, finished with an electric syringe for added theatre.

For more theatre, the bar has created a cocktail that continuously mixes itself.

The £20 Infinity Vortex is made with Johnnie Walker Blue Label, Regal Rogue, red vermouth, Pedro Ximénez Sherry, cacao nib and barrel-aged bitters.

As well as the new group cocktails, the menu also includes a selection of single pours for those who don’t like to share.

Inspired by the orange and passion fruit pub favourite, the J2Woah has been carbonated in-house using white wine, citrus vodka and Cointreau.

Meanwhile, the Peach Clari-Tea, which is served in a colour-changing glass, is a peach milk punch made with Dutch Barn Vodka, Shiraume Umeshu sake, black tea infusion, peach, lemon and dairy, clarified for a smooth finish, while the Pear Necessities is a pear-flavoured, gin-based cocktail made with Szechuan peppercorn-infused Another Hendrick’s gin, Mouse Kingdom Pear & Peppercorn, with lime and blood orange foam, finished with an electric syringe and a subtle tingling Szechuan-style effect.

Finally, the Bubblegum Cola Libre is a pink and blue layered twist on the classic with a nostalgic bubble gum flavour, made with Appleton Signature rum, Mouse Kingdom Blue, bubble gum, sour cola, Disco Grenadine and lemon, finished with a sour lollipop and crackle crystals.

All serves mentioned are priced at £13 (US$17.50).

For those going alcohol-free, a new range of iced and matcha drinks is also now available, including a white chocolate and mint frappe, an iced apricot and turmeric latte, and an iced matcha and banana latte.
