Rémy Cointreau appoints GTR MD
By Lauren BowesAnnabelle Chung has taken up the role of global travel retail (GTR) managing director for Asia Pacific at Rémy Cointreau.

The appointment is effective today (23 March).
Based in Singapore, Chung will be responsible for accelerating the development of Rémy Cointreau’s portfolio of spirits while strengthening the company’s strategic partnerships across key markets and airports in the region.
Fida Bou Chabke, Rémy Cointreau’s CEO of travel retail, said: “Annabelle brings a rare combination of deep travel retail expertise, strong commercial leadership and extensive experience across Asia and Europe.
“Her understanding of the regional ecosystem and her ability to build strategic partnerships will be invaluable as we continue to accelerate our development across Asia Pacific.”
Chung has more than 15 years of international experience in the travel retail and luxury distribution industry.
She joins Rémy Cointreau from Lagardère Travel Retail, where she most recently served as executive vice-president of merchandising and commercial for Asia Pacific. In this role, she led the development of the company’s regional commercial and purchasing strategy across key markets including Japan, Hainan, Singapore, Cambodia and New Zealand.

In Rémy Cointreau’s most recent financial results, spirits and liqueur sales were in decline in China and the rest of Asia.
The firm created the Prestige Division, which includes Louis XIII Cognac, this month.
