Kavalan single malt whiskies are now available in Bahrain for the first time

Kavalan will be introduced to the Bahrain market for the first time through GBI’s multi-channel platform, which includes premium retail, select on-trade venues, e-commerce and duty-free channels.

Eight whiskies will be available in Bahrain, including flagship single malts like Kavalan Classic and Concertmaster, as well as Kavalan Lán, Distillery Select No.1, and Solist Ex-Bourbon Cask.

According to YT Lee, chairman of King Car, GBI aims to establish Kavalan as a leading premium Asian single malt whisky in Bahrain.

He said: “This is Kavalan’s first market expansion in 2026. It’s a very exciting start to the year, and we’re very pleased to be working with one of Bahrain’s leading premium beverage distributors, GBI.

“As with all Kavalan business development, we’ll focus, together, on telling the Kavalan story and raising awareness of our brand to whisky lovers within the country.”

GBI manages the country’s leading alcohol retail store and provides services to key hotels, bars and restaurants.

Additionally, it oversees a growing direct-to-consumer e-commerce platform that offers home delivery and instant service, as well as channels for travel retail, embassies, and duty-free sales.

Jack Booth, operations manager at GBI, said: “Kavalan’s craftsmanship, innovation and premium credentials strongly align with our existing portfolio strategy.

“We see significant long-term potential for the brand in Bahrain and look forward to building Kavalan’s presence through carefully selected channels and meaningful consumer engagement.”

The initial launch will focus on flagship retail locations and on selected on-trade partners. This effort will be supported by brand education initiatives, premium activations, and visibility programmes throughout 2026.

Plans for additional channel expansion and consumer-led storytelling initiatives are in place to further strengthen Kavalan’s presence in the market.

Last month, the brand appointed Marussia Beverages as its new exclusive distribution partner in the UK.
