Kavalan unveils Concertmaster gift set
Taiwanese whisky producer Kavalan will release a gift set featuring its Concertmaster Port Cask Finish and two miniatures.
The set will include a 700ml bottle of the Port Cask whisky and two 50ml bottles of the brand’s flagship expressions, Kavalan Classic and Distillery Select No 1.
Kavalan Concertmaster Port Cask Finish is matured in American oak casks and finished in Portuguese ruby Port barriques. It is said to have ‘honey, vanilla, coconut and candy floss’ on the nose, while it is ‘rich-bodied with natural sweetness and complexity’ on the palate.
All three whiskies are bottled at 40% ABV. The set will retail for €75 (US$80).

The packaging features vibrant green hues, which ‘inspired by the mountains surrounding the distillery’. Kavalan’s water source, Snow Mountain, is represented on the box and bottle, while the inner lining features a colourful fern representing Taiwan’s subtropical landscape.
The gift set will be exclusively for export markets, including Germany, Austria, Switzerland, the Czech Republic, Japan, Hong Kong, Macao, Singapore, Malaysia, the Philippines and Mexico.
Kavalan is planning to open a flagship store in Lotte Duty Free’s shop in Seoul, South Korea.
Its previous releases include a Triple Sherry Cask Finish whisky and a Cask Strength range.
