Pantalones marks Valentine’s Day
By Rupert HohwielerTequila brand Pantalones, co-founded by actor Matthew McConaughey, has partnered with Fuzzy’s Taco Shop to create a Valentine’s-themed sharing Margarita.

The restaurant chain will offer a Pantalones Margarita at its locations across the US tomorrow (14 February), priced at US$14.50.
The Margarita is presented in a pants-shaped duo glass. The two-legged vessel contains two different flavours of Margarita, with guests able to choose between mango, strawberry, or lime.
The cocktails are poured side by side into their own ‘legs’. The brand claims the concept is “colourful, customisable and made for sharing”.

Additionally, Fuzzy’s will also offer a Pants on Fire Margarita that combines strawberry and jalapeño with Pantalones Organic Tequila Blanco. This Margarita will stay on Fuzzy’s menu beyond Valentine’s Day and is priced at US$13.
Pantalones’ co-founders Matthew and Camila McConaughey said they are ditching ‘traditional Valentine’s Day date night’, instead choosing to ‘ride bareback straight into the holiday’ and crowning Pantalones as the ‘official Tequila of riding bareback’.
The Texas-born actor and his wife launched the brand in October 2023.
The pair have often used playful marketing campaigns to promote the brand, such as revisiting Matthew’s 1999 arrest for playing the bongos naked.
The ‘Official Tequila Of’ campaign presents Pantalones as the ‘official’ Tequila of various situations, often starring the McConaugheys in adverts without their pants.
The brand launched in the UK in June last year and has since gained a listing at supermarket Waitrose.
