The McConaugheys go pantless for Pantalones

Matthew McConaughey’s Tequila brand Pantalones has launched a new campaign, titled ‘Official Tequila Of’.

Pantalones
The Tequila was created to ‘celebrate having fun, doing good and not taking life too seriously’

The campaign will run through the year and show the actor and his wife and Pantalones co-founder, Camila McConaughey, in videos presenting the brand as the ‘official’ Tequila of various things and situations, without their pants.

The first video shows the pair declaring Pantalones as the official Tequila of pickleball and spring cleaning, as they play the game and take care of some ‘long-dreaded spring cleaning’.

Neither appear to be wearing pants in the videos in honour of the brand’s name, which translates to ‘pants’ in Spanish.

The McConaugheys said: “With the explosion in popularity of Tequila, there’s a level of snootiness that’s crept into the category. People now talk about Tequila the way they talk about wine.

“While we’re all for being passionate about Tequila, we wanted to remind people that, above all, it’s meant to be fun. That’s where the name Pantalones came from and that’s why you won’t see us wearing any.

“We’re precious about our Tequila, not our pants.”

Throughout the year other videos showcasing Pantalones as the ‘official’ Tequila will include: being 5 O’clock somewhere; of pants being optional; of good weather; of morning toasts; of pickle ball and pickle Margaritas; of the walk of no shame; of “hold my drink and watch this”; of impromptu karaoke nights; of mowing your lawn; of finding that lost sock; of firing it up (summer barbecues); of the original workout; of tomfoolery; and of not taking life too seriously.

Pantalones is made with 100% Blue Weber agave and its range includes Blanco, with notes of honey and citrus; Reposado, aged for nine months with hints of sweet fruit and fresh oak; and Añejo, aged for 15 months with notes of vanilla, butterscotch and maple.
