Chivas Regal opens Mumbai airport store
By Rupert HohwielerThe first permanent Chivas Regal boutique in global travel retail (GTR) has landed in Mumbai International Airport.

Opened in partnership by Pernod Ricard Global Travel Retail in collaboration with Ospree Duty Free, the near 50sqm store is located in the duty free section of the airport’s international departures area.
It features Chivas Regal’s new visual identity in IMEA (India, the Middle East, and Africa) travel retail for the first time, as well as the arrival of the brand’s clear spirit drink, Crystalgold, in India travel retail.
The store’s design is decked out in a gold aesthetic with digital screens and engagement tools that change throughout the year as new innovations and seasonal activities are showcased.
Within the space shoppers will find the full Chivas Regal range, as well as whiskies from other Chivas Brothers brands such as Royal Salute, Glenlivet and Aberlour.
A Rare and Collectible wall is also on display where some of rarest whiskies in the Chivas Brothers portfolio sit, including Chivas Regal The Icon, Royal Salute Gun Salute 62, Royal Salute Platinum Jubilee and Royal Salute House of Quinn.
Other additions for visitors include Chivas Regal-branded gift bags, tags, luxury charms and a range of perfumes from the Chivas Regal Luxe Collective. An artist will also appear on special occasions for bottle engraving opportunties.

Neha Jabbar, marketing director, Pernod Ricard Middle East, said: “It’s been an exciting time for us, Ospree and Mumbai International Airport with this momentous opening occurring just a few weeks after our major launch of the Chivas Regal XV x Gaurav Gupta Limited Edition.
“Designed in the brand’s latest bold gold aesthetic, the boutique offers travellers an immersive and elevated whisky experience, guided by expert brand consultants.
“It reflects our commitment to engaging the increasingly discerning Indian consumer – one who values craftsmanship, storytelling, and rarity, and we believe it will meaningfully enhance engagement and dwell time for departing passengers.”
The space was officially opened in mid-December 2025 by senior leaders from Pernod Ricard GTR.
A spokesperson from Ospree added: “From the giant bejewelled luckenbooth icon at the entrance to the opulent gold staging and plethora of LED screens creating a sensational display, this Chivas Regal boutique is a real statement from the brand and we’re delighted to have partnered with the Pernod Ricard GTR IMEA team to open the first of its kind in the India and Middle East region at the Ospree Duty Free – Mumbai.”
India has been highlighted by both the IWSR and the Tax Free World Association (TFWA) as a significant growth driver in travel retail sales.
Last year, Chivas Regal’s producer Chivas Brothers announced the retirement of its master blender Sandy Hyslop. Kevin Balmforth was named as his successor.
The blended Scotch whisky brand also named Formula One driver Charles Leclerc its global brand ambassador in a multi-year partnership.
