Midnight Rambler creates 90s mall-inspired menu

The cocktail bar at The Joule hotel in Dallas, Midnight Rambler, has launched a ‘nostalgic and playful’ menu based on the city’s NorthPark shopping centre in the 1990s.

The menu comprises 13 cocktails that reference a different story or outlet, such as Hot Topic, Claire’s and Bath & Body Works.

Launching in time for the holiday season, festive cocktails include Home for the Holidays, which is based on Coca-Cola’s iconic polar bear advert. The carbonated serve comprises Martell Cognac, Averna Amaro, a spiced Champagne and cola reduction and ‘Crazy Water #4’.

Head bartender Haley Merritt, meanwhile, was inspired by Orange Julius to create the Frothy Little Bastard. The frozen cocktail features Fords Gin, Diplomático rum, Licor 43, vanilla and a tangerine-mandarin-navel orange juice blend.

Department store perfume counters are the concept behind The Rambler No 9. The cocktail, created by Jade Seigler, combines Jefferson’s Bourbon, lemon, jasmine tea and lemongrass-ginger soda. It is served with a mini atomiser for an ‘interactive misting experience’.

BodySplash & Bad Decisions comprises cantaloupe-infused Absolut Vodka, cherry blossom tea, lemon and cucumber-melon cordial.

Meanwhile, It’s Not A Phase – which is inspired by Hot Topic – features fig leaf-infused Jameson, an amaro blend, Malört and Derrumbes Guerrero mezcal.

For its previous menu, Midnight Rambler looked to another 90s icon: Pokémon.
