ProWein names Frank Schindler director
By Melita KielyFrank Schindler will become director of wine and spirits trade fair ProWein this month.

Schindler will step into the role on 15 October, taking over project management of the Düsseldorf fair, including the ProSpirits arm of the show.
He will also oversee the six shows across Asia and South America.
Marius Berlemann, chief operating officer at parent company Messe Düsseldorf, said: “In Frank Schindler we have an expert who is very well connected in the international wine and spirits world at the helm of ProWein Düsseldorf.
“He embodies the energy and creative drive we need for the next phase of our number-one trade fair. Right now, as we strategically realign and ambitiously develop the brand further, he is exactly the right person to translate this sense of new departures into concrete successes.”
Schindler will also handle the trade show’s global strategic positioning and international marketing.
At ProWein Düsseldorf 2025, approximately 500 spirits exhibitors from 53 countries were in attendance.
For the first time this year, in the Same but Different hall, The Spirits Business Hub hosted three days of seminars and tastings – including a whiskey tasting with The Vampire Diaries actor Ian Somerhalder, co-founder of Brother’s Bond Bourbon.
The Rumah bar team from Rotterdam were also behind the stick at The Spirits Business Hub shaking and stirring both alcoholic and non-alcoholic cocktails throughout the event.
