LeBron James confuses fans with Hennessy tease
By Rupert HohwielerHennessy Cognac has launched its second limited edition VSOP bottle with NBA superstar LeBron James, causing an uproar on the internet in the process.

On Instagram yesterday, James posted a teaser captioned: ‘The decision of all decisions. October 7th. 12pm EST’.
The post led many basketball fans to believe he would be announcing his retirement, however it was later revealed that the ‘second decision’ tease was regarding the NBA legend’s second collaboration with Hennessy Cognac.
James unveiled an advert for the partnership with Hennessy Cognac, which parodies ‘the decision’ interview from 2010, in which he announced he would be making the move from the Cleveland Cavaliers to the Miami Heat.
In the clip, James is seen revealing his second collaborative bottle design with Hennessy. He is asked by the interviewer: “LeBron, fans want to know where you’re taking your talents this year. What’s your decision?”
James responds: “In this fall, I’m going to be taking my talents… to Hennessy VSOP.”
Revealing the new bottle design, James explains that Hennessy’s VSOP is going to help him to win more at hosting, win at signature cocktails, win at impressing guests, and win at leaving people wanting more.
The design features James’ signature ‘crowning’ gesture on an orange Hennessy VSOP bottle, the colouring of which is said to bring a fresh energy and a new occasion for celebration from courtside to cocktail hour.
James said: “It’s an honour to continue this partnership with Hennessy. Our first collection was about a shared pursuit of excellence and boundary pushing, and this new limited edition is another chapter in that story.

“The design features my crowning gesture, which is special for me and stands for celebration and connection. That’s what this bottle is made for.”
The Hennessy VSOP Limited Edition by LeBron James is available in select markets worldwide. It is recommended in the brand’s signature serve: The Hennessy Sidecar, crafted with 40ml Hennessy VSOP, 15ml orange liqueur, 20ml fresh lemon juice, 10ml simple syrup, and a lemon twist for garnish.

Playing for the Los Angeles Lakers, James will enter his 23rd year in the NBA when the season kicks off later this month.
