Cointreau invites drinkers to swap Eggnog for Margaritas

Orange liqueur Cointreau is inviting consumers to rethink their holiday traditions with its new festive campaign, Make Your Eggnog a Margarita.

Plaza returns with her signature irreverence as she encourages fans to ditch the ‘nog for something zesty

The new campaign declares Eggnog officially out, and Margaritas in – inviting consumers to swap traditional holiday serves for something zesty and bring.

Make Your Eggnog a Margarita debuted yesterday (21 October) across digital, social, and paid media, and is backed by new research from Cointreau that reveals more than 90% of consumers would rather sip a Margarita than Eggnog at holiday gatherings.

The campaign is the latest evolution of the brand’s MargaRight initiative, starring The White Lotus actor Aubrey Plaza, and builds on the brand’s ‘Any Tequila’ message that launched this summer.

“Move over, Eggnog – Margaritas are crashing the holiday party this year,” said Plaza. “They’re easy to make, and a guaranteed crowd pleaser. I’m just saying… skip the ‘nog, and let’s make spirits bright with Margaritas made MargaRight – Cointreau, fresh lime juice and any Tequila – literally any Tequila you want.”

Nicolas Beckers, president and CEO at Rémy Cointreau Americas, added: “The Margarita isn’t just a staple for summer, it is also the perfect choice for holiday toasts and winter celebrations.

“In the Make Your Eggnog a Margarita campaign, we want to remind consumers that a Margarita is a timeless, convenient crowd-pleaser to serve guests this holiday season and all year long.”

To get into the spirit of the campaign, consumers can purchase a limited edition Make Your Eggnog a Margarita kit, featuring an ‘Any Tequila’ decanter signed by Plaza, plus a seasonal social series of holiday Margarita recipes.

A limited number of kits will be released throughout the season, exclusively on ReserveBar.com, while supplies last.
