Witchmark lands Amathus listing

English distillery Witchmark has secured a listing for its full range of spirits with retailer Amathus Drinks.

The windows of Amathus stores in Oxford, Bath and Soho have been given a Witchmark makeover

The B Corp-certified distillery, located on the historic Fonthill Estate in Wiltshire, produces grain-to-glass spirits using locally grown barley and water drawn from chalk aquifers beneath the county’s downs.

The range, which includes Black Lime Single Origin English Gin, Wiltshire Single Origin English Gin, London Dry Single Origin English Gin, and Single Origin English Vodka, is now available through Amathus Drinks, both online and across its specialist stores UK-wide.

Over the summer, Witchmark implemented window displays in Amathus’ Oxford and Bath stores. From September, it will also be taking over the window display in London’s Soho, showcasing the distillery’s range and the raw material that goes into making each spirit.

In addition, Witchmark will be hosting multiple in-store samplings throughout September, giving customers the opportunity to discover the character and provenance behind each spirit.

Jon Carson, co-founder and commercial director at Witchmark Distillery, said: “Since the start of the year, we’ve been building our Witchmark brand, and this exciting activation with Amathus, implementing window displays in Bath, Oxford, and Soho, supported by in-store samplings and digital activity, is our most significant to date.

“Amathus shares our independent, quality-focused ethos, making it the ideal partner to help us introduce Witchmark to new audiences who value authenticity and craft.”

The brand’s Wiltshire Single Origin English Gin is bottled at 43% ABV and retails for £37.60 (US$51). It is described as a celebration of floral elegance and citrus brightness, balanced with subtle herbal and spicy notes.

Witchmark’s 40% ABV London Dry is a ‘classic, timeless gin’ that is said to be bursting with juniper’s piney freshness and balanced with the bright zest of orange. It also retails at £37.60.

Clocking in at 46% ABV, the punchier Black Lime Single Origin gin is offered at £38.60 (US$52) per bottle. It is said to be a bold and adventurous spirit, crafted to capture the essence of exotic spices and citrus complexity.

Finally, Witchmark’s Single Origin English Vodka, which is limited to a run of 1,000 bottles, delivers ‘exceptional’ smoothness and a rich, creamy character, with an ABV of 40% and a retail price of £38.60.

Rob Gray, purchasing manager of Amathus Drinks, added: “We are delighted to have added Witchmark Distillery to our non-agency portfolio this summer, with its gins and vodka now available across all of our retail estate.

“The brand team at Witchmark has supported our new partnership with a series of magnificent window displays at our Bath, Oxford, and Soho stores. As well as their fantastic spirits, Witchmark’s commitment to sustainability, recognised by their securing of the highest-scoring B Corp certification for a distillery in England, is not only hugely impressive, but also very much aligned with our values here at Amathus. We’re very excited for our burgeoning relationship to continue to flourish for years to come.”

With ambitions to become one of England’s leading whisky producers, Witchmark filled its first casks in 2024, laying the foundation for single malts set to debut in 2027.
