Sagamore releases its oldest rye whiskey
By Miona MadsenIllva Saronno-owned Sagamore Spirit Distillery in Maryland has unveiled its oldest straight rye whiskey to date: a 10-year-old.

Released as part of the brand’s Reserve Series, the new limited edition expression was aged for a decade in new charred American white oak barrels.
The straight rye whiskey sits at 55.4% ABV, and displays aromas of peach crumble, roasted nuts, and molasses cookie, with spice, crème brûlée, floral honey, and white pepper notes on the palate.
Ryan Norwood, vice-president of operations at Sagamore Spirit, said: “The launch of our 10-year-old rye is a defining moment for Sagamore Spirit. This release reflects not only our deep commitment to the legacy of Maryland rye, but also the high standards our fans expect. It’s a bottle not to be missed.”
With an RRP of US$79.99, the limited edition is available directly from Sagamore Spirit Distillery in Baltimore and select premium retailers nationwide starting in September.
Italian company Illva Saronno acquired the majority stake in Sagamore Spirit in September 2023. The firm’s portfolio includes Disaronno, Tia Maria, Isolabella Limoncello, The Busker Irish whiskey, and Engine Gin.
Earlier this year, SB travelled to Rome for Disaronno’s 500th anniversary to discuss Illva Saronno’s long-term vision with CEO Marco Ferrari.
