The Scotch whisky bottler received a request to send a special gift for a 20th wedding anniversary to Buckingham Palace.

Celebrating the wedding of HM King Charles III and HM Queen Camilla in 2005, the latest gift marks the third time that the Aberdeenshire company has presented gifts to the royals.

Duncan Taylor first gifted a Coronation Trilogy of Laphroaig whiskies to HM Queen Camilla before her Scottish Coronation with the King in 2023.

Last year, the company celebrated the 900th anniversary of Edinburgh’s status as a royal burgh by presenting the king and queen with a collection of whiskies from The Macallan’s Rare Collection.

This year’s gift, the Royal Anniversary Edition, includes a 19-year-old Laphroaig single malt distilled in 2005 and bottled at 56.4% ABV, along with a gin aged for seven months in the same cask and bottled on the anniversary date of 9 April 2025. The gin boasts an ABV of 50%.

The 700ml whisky and gin bottles are displayed in an elegant case, made entirely from environmentally friendly materials, featuring a plinth for showcasing both spirits and a certificate of authenticity.

Evan Robertson, director of Duncan Taylor Scotch Whisky, said: “Pairing a Laphroaig whisky from their nuptial year with a gin finished from the same cask, and bottled on their 20th anniversary, was a truly unique opportunity to celebrate their union.

“As the king champions regenerative textiles, the selection of sustainable materials for the packaging further added to the importance of this gift, and we were delighted to gift them the first set from this limited edition.”

The Royal Anniversary Edition is limited to 205 sequential sets and is available worldwide from The Spirits Embassy for £690 (US$932).

King Charles III is known for his appreciation of Laphroaig. As Prince Charles, he awarded D Johnston & Co its first Royal Warrant in 1994, and renewed it for the first time as a king in May 2024.
