Sid Vicious bar to open in Washington state
Coffee and cocktail lounge El Sid will open in the Apex event centre in Everett, Washington, on 9 August.

The bar is inspired by The Sex Pistols’ bassist, who died of a heroin overdose in 1979.
El Sid will offer coffee by day and ‘punk rock-inspired’ cocktails by night.

For instance, London Calling is named after a song by English band The Clash. The serve blends City of London Gin, lemon, strawberry, and soda.
Meanwhile, Astro Zombie – named after a song by The Misfits – is a riff on the Zombie with spiced rum.
The Vicious, inspired by the bar’s namesake, is a ‘blood-red’ whiskey cocktail ‘with a bitter edge’.
Apex and El Sid’s founder, John Carswell, said: “Apex Everett isn’t just a venue – it’s a phenomenon. Through music, art, cuisine, and craft cocktails, it’s quickly becoming the entertainment mecca of the Pacific Northwest. With El Sid setting the tone, we’re putting Snohomish County nightlife back on the map in a whole new way.”
Carswell grew up in the punk scene, ‘mohawk and all’, with his appreciation for the ‘raw, rebellious energy of British punk’ the driving force behind the bar.
El Sid’s opening will coincide with Apex’s third annual Preserve the Kulture event, which celebrates urban art, music, and community.
