Glenfiddich and Aston Martin F1 launch 65YO into Harrods
William Grant & Sons-owned Glenfiddich has marked its ‘historic’ British partnership with Aston Martin Formula One with the launch of an ultra-rare Scotch whisky, available exclusively at Harrods.

Glenfiddich 1959 pays tribute to the year Aston Martin first joined Formula One. The ultra-rare expression launches today (3 July) in time for the 2025 British Grand Prix at Silverstone this weekend. It is said to celebrate the ‘enduring legacies of two homegrown icons of craftsmanship and innovation’.
The whisky was first revealed at the Las Vegas Grand Prix in November 2024 to celebrate a multi-year global partnership between Glenfiddich and Aston Martin.
Only a handful of bottles, which are presented in a bespoke presentation case created in collaboration with acclaimed Glasgow designer John Galvin, are available worldwide.
The case designs draw on the rich heritage of both brands, taking cues from the sleek engineering of the Aston Martin Formula One team while incorporating materials such as ash and copper, which are synonymous with Glenfiddich’s home in Dufftown.

It has also been meticulously designed to reflect the rarity and prestige of what is described as an ‘exceptional’ single malt, which has been drawn from a rare Sherry butt, and offers ‘unparalleled depth and complexity’.
The nose brings notes of oak, aged leather, tannin and beeswax mingling with the earthy aroma of a dunnage warehouse floor. On the palate, oaky spice blends with cloves, dates, and dark chocolate with a lasting finish of dry, rich tannins.
Brian Kinsman, Glenfiddich malt master, commented: “This limited edition 1959 bottling represents a pivotal moment in history – the year Aston Martin first entered F1 and won Le Mans. To honour this milestone, we delved deep into the Glenfiddich archives and unearthed this exceptional expression from that very year.
“It is a rare whisky that embodies the essence of this partnership, capturing the spirit of innovation and excellence that both Glenfiddich and Aston Martin have upheld for decades. The bottle is a tribute to our shared legacy, connecting the past with the future in a truly remarkable way.”
Lawrence Stroll, owner and executive chairman of Aston Martin Formula One Team, added: “It was 1959 when Aston Martin made its F1 debut, so to produce a rare whisky from the same year is a wonderful way to celebrate the history of both brands. Aston Martin and Glenfiddich have such long and rich histories, with both brands driven by a relentless pursuit of excellence. To bring those values and heritage together with something so unique as this special edition whisky is an important moment for our partnership.”
The 65-year-old Glenfiddich 1959, which is bottled at 45.6% ABV, is now exclusively available at Harrods’ Fine Wines & Spirits Room.
