Satan’s Whiskers alumnus to open Vibes in Nice
By Lauren BowesYoann Tarditi, formerly of London bar Satan’s Whiskers, and Manon Vieules of NoMad London are launching Vibes bar on the south coast of France.

The bar aims to ‘celebrate the legacy and lifestyle of the French Riviera’.
Music will be given equal precedence as the drinks, with the duo teaming up with music expert Bryan Gaillard, formerly of Brilliant Corners and Mu.
“We have been shaping Vibes Riviera for at least five years,” said Tarditi. “It all started when we were working together at The London Edition. Then, with Vibes in mind, we decided to split ways to go for what was respectively each other’s dream jobs before going on our own.
“During those times, it was mainly through music that we were able to clearly envision Vibes and our motto: cocktails and boogie. Think funky music on impeccable sound system, conviviality and frozen Peach Daiquiris.”

Set to open in the second half of June, Vibes is based in an old garage near Nice’s harbour. The site features 36 covers with a further 12 on the terrace.
Tarditi added: “We find the history of the Riviera fascinating and we want to show the world what it has to offer. It’s always been a dream to open our own space and be able to showcase the legacy of the French Riviera to the world makes it extra special.”
Cocktails include the Maurescolada, which is a riff on a local serve called the Mauresque, combined with a Piña Colada. It is made with pastis, amaretto, coconut sorbet and fresh pineapple.
Elsewhere, the menu highlights ‘the best of the Riviera’s terroir’, including fresh ingredients alongside locally made liqueurs, aperitifs, amaro and eaux-de-vie.
Food will be based on ‘local bistro delicacies’, including Italian charcuterie plates, burrata, tomato and fresh peach salad, and a ‘daube Niçoise’ grilled cheese toastie.
