Salud concludes Chichibu 7even Gods of Fortune series

Dutch spirits distributor Salud Spirits has unveiled the seventh and final edition in the Chichibu 7even Gods of Fortune series: Jurojin.

The final chapter in the Chichibu 7even Gods of Fortune is limited to 157 bottles

Launched in 2022, the series pays homage to the seven gods of fortune from Japanese mythology, with each release symbolising a different god.

Previous releases in the Salud Spirits-exclusive series include Ebisu, Hotei, Bishamonten, Benzaitan, Fukurokuju, and Daikokuten.

The final expression is dedicated to Jurojin, who symbolises long life, wisdom, and health.

The Japanese single malt was drawn from a single ex-Bourbon barrel, which was filled in 2016. Offered at 63.3% ABV, the expression is limited to 157 bottles worldwide.

According to Salud, the release is ‘made extra special by a spectacular goodie’. At the moment, this remains a secret.

The 7even Gods of fortune series was created in collaboration with digital artist Robbin Snijders from Warbb. He said: “When I was approached by this whisky brand, I was immediately excited. For me, this is the ultimate way to bring my art to life. I want to immerse the proud owner of this bottle in a world I created, the world of Warbb.”

For the series, Salud Spirits also collaborated closely with Chichibu Distillery’s master blender, Ichiro Akuto, who makes single casks available to the distributor annually.

With the closing of the 7even Gods of Fortune series, Salud Spirits is reportedly opening a new chapter under the name Spirits of Salud. Two Chichibu Symphony editions are part of this range.
