The new distribution agreement with Disaronno International will enable UK consumers to access a broader portfolio of Ron Barceló premium rums.

Marc Richardson, managing director and UK country manager of Disaronno International UK, said: “We are delighted to welcome Ron Barceló to our brand family in the UK, and their award-winning range of rums will be a valuable addition to our growing premium dark spirits portfolio.”

The deal will include distribution of the the brand’s Imperial Onyx, Imperial, Organic, Gran Añejo, Blanco Añejado, and Dorado Añejado rums.

Furthermore, Disaronno will also oversee distribution of Barceló Premium Blend, which was awarded a Master medal at the Rum and Cachaça Masters 2025, as well as Imperial Premium Blend 40 Aniversario, recognised at the Rum and Cachaça Masters 2024 with both the Master and Taste Master medals.

Vinicio Subero, global director of business expansion at Ron Barceló, said: “The high-quality standards in all our production processes are the characteristic that makes possible the unique qualities of our value proposition and the high acceptance of our brand among consumers from different cultures and highly competitive markets, such as the UK region.”

Subero added that the brand is aiming to continuously attract new consumers and therefore “it is an honour to expand the reach of our portfolio in the UK, a competitive market with a population that is very conscious of valuing high premium products, to offer our unique consumption experience”.

Ron Barceló, now based in San Pedro de Macorís, Dominican Republic, was established in 1930. The company distributes close to three million cases of rum in more than 90 countries across five continents.

Last year, Chiara Pennacchio, the global marketing director of Ron Barceló, spoke to The Spirits Business about the Dominican rum’s goal of expanding globally and its plans to enhance its outreach to bartenders.

Earlier this year, the Dominican rum introduced a video platform that guides viewers through every detail of the rum world and its brand.
