New York Distilling Co will be the first American whiskey brand in the Loch Lomond Group (LLG) portfolio, sitting alongside single malt Scotch whiskies from Loch Lomond, Glen Scotia, and Littlemill.

Upon acquisition, LLG plans to further invest in the distillations and production capabilities and the visitor experience on-site, as well as helping NYDC to grow its portfolio of brands in the US and globally.

“This acquisition represents another milestone in the continued growth of The Loch Lomond Group,” founder and CEO Colin Matthews said.

“We are looking forward to working closely with the talented and ambitious team at NYDC to invest in both the facilities and products, while supercharging its growth both domestically in the US and around the world through the existing Loch Lomond Group distribution networks, as well as providing our help and expertise in the continued creation of fabulous flavours.”

In March 2024, NYDC moved its distillery operations from Williamsburg to Bushwick, launching a new line and brand identity in the process with Jaywalk Rye.

NYDC was founded in 2011 by Tom Potter and Allen Katz who released a joint statement regarding the acquisition.

“We are excited to work with Colin and the Loch Lomond Group team going forward to help us grow further our fantastic brands around the world,” the founders said.

“LLG has a strong track record of success, winning multiple major awards over many years for their whisky brands of Loch Lomond, Glen Scotia, Littlemill and High Commissioner, and with sales in over 120 countries around the world, we can’t wait to introduce NYDC’s brands to many of the key whiskey markets over the next period.”

Financial terms of the deal have not been disclosed.
