Jawbox introduces apple and ginger gin liqueur

Kirker Greer Spirits has expanded its Jawbox range with an apple and ginger-flavoured gin liqueur, which is inspired by a rare apple variety.

Building on Jawbox’s small-batch London dry gin, made with 11 botanicals, including Belfast Black Mountain heather, the Apple & Ginger Gin Liqueur offers a ‘bright and refreshing’ twist to summer cocktails.

The liqueur is inspired by an unusual apple variety, Echlinville apples, grown on the distillery’s country estate outside Belfast, Ireland.

Ali Pickering, chief marketing officer at Drinksology Kirker Greer (DKG), said: “The crisp apple flavour in Jawbox Apple & Ginger combines beautifully with the unique combination of botanicals in our small-batch classic dry gin, while the touch of ginger adds a gentle warmth, creating a standout combination that’s delicious.

“Our Jawbox distillery sits on a 300-acre country estate dating back to the 16th century, where we grow the grain used in Jawbox. It’s also home to an unusual and distinctive apple variety – the unique ‘Echlinville’ cultivar, which inspired the creation of our Jawbox Apple & Ginger Gin Liqueur.”

The gin liqueur can be mixed with ginger ale or Indian tonic water, but works well in refreshing cocktails such as the brand’s signature The Apple Southside, The Apple Collins, and The Apple Fizz.

Available to on- and off-trade retailers in the UK and Ireland, the liqueur is targeted at 28-55 year-old urban gin drinkers who are ‘sociable, hard working, and willing to trade up for quality.’

Jawbox Apple & Ginger Gin Liqueur is available at 20% ABV and has a recommended retail price of £25.50 (US$34) for a 700ml bottle.

Kirker Greer Spirits will support the new launch with a social media campaign, followed by additional promotional activities throughout the summer.

Last December, Jawbox launched a holiday-inspired ginger serve initiative to attract new gin drinkers.
