Anora welcomes new vice-president
By Miona MadsenHelsinki-based spirits company Anora Group has appointed Imre Avalo as its new vice president.

Avalo will officially assume the role next Monday [19 May], succeeding Kirsi Puntila after her appointment as company CEO earlier this year.
The change in Anora’s executive management team precedes the company’s upcoming shift in its spirits segment.
Avalo commented on his new role: “I’m excited about this opportunity. I’m honoured to continue executing our strategy with our strong own spirits brands, while bringing the best brands from around the world to the Nordics together with our key partners.
“I’m looking forward to continuing my work with the spirits team in my new role.”
Avalo has been with Anora and its predecessor, Altia, since 2017, holding various roles. Most recently, he has served as the vice president of Baltics and expansion markets since 2023.
Before joining Anora, Avalo worked as sales director at a wine and spirits company in Estonia. He also gained experience in sales and project management while working at Carlsberg.
Puntila said: “On behalf of the management team and all our Anora colleagues, I am happy to have Imre Avalo take the lead of Anora’s spirits segment and join the executive management team.
“Under his leadership, Anora has expanded its Baltic operations to Lithuania in line with our strategy. Imre’s background in the beverage business will strongly support our success over the coming years.”
To strengthen the company’s position in the Baltic region, Anora established a dedicated commercial branch in Lithuania in November 2024.
