TOTCF creates cocktail competition with Planteray
By Lauren BowesFancy A Stiggins is a new contest from the Tales of the Cocktail Foundation (TOTCF) and Planteray Rum, with a trip to France up for grabs.

The competition asks bartenders in the US and Canada to create an original cocktail using Stiggins’ Fancy Pineapple Rum.
Two winners will attend Planteray’s Stiggins’ Ball in Cognac, where they can create their own batch of Stiggins’ Fancy.
The ball will be followed by a two-day, all-expenses-paid trip to Paris, including a tour of the capital’s best cocktail bars. The trip will culminate in a private visit to Maison Ferrand’s Barge 166 – the world’s first floating cellar – moored on the River Seine.
TOTCF’s director of partnerships Taylor Barron said: “TOTCF is thrilled to collaborate with Planteray Stiggins’ Fancy Pineapple Rum to celebrate the ingenuity and passion of bartenders. Through this partnership, we aim to inspire innovation, foster community, and create meaningful opportunities for bartenders to engage with a brand that values their craft.”
Stiggins’ Fancy Pineapple Rum was first crafted as a tribute to the TOTCF apprentice programme, because its ‘volunteers embody the pineapple’s long history as an icon of hospitality and generosity’.
Entrants must submit an original recipe featuring at least one ounce of Stiggins’ Fancy Pineapple Rum. Entries will be judged on creativity, technique and how the cocktail showcases the rum’s signature character.
Winners will be announced shortly after Planteray’s Tropical Week, which takes place on 12-18 May.
TOTCF also runs an Espresso Martini competition in collaboration with Absolut Vodka and Kahlúa called Good, Clean Fun.
