Secret Garden Distillery celebrates mothers

The Secret Garden Distillery invites everyone to celebrate the inspiring women in their lives this Mother’s Day on Sunday 30 March.
In celebration of the occasion, the gin distillery has partnered with bars across Scotland to curate bespoke menus.
From Glasgow to the Scottish Borders, the distillery’s gins are the centrepiece of exclusive cocktails designed to elevate the experience of celebrating mothers, grandmothers, and daughters alike.
At Mharsanta in Glasgow, guests can enjoy a menu that pays tribute to iconic Scottish women, such as Flora MacDonald and Mary Barbour.
Meanwhile, Rogue Glasgow offers cocktails such as the Rose Bramble and Wild Negroni, which feature The Secret Garden’s Rose and Wild gins.
Derby Lane in Finnieston, on the other hand, is serving a refreshing Lavender Collins, and Provender Melrose in the Scottish Borders is mixing up a ‘Mum’s Secret Lemonade’ with Secret Garden Rose Gin.
At The Balmoral in Edinburgh, the Jasmine Royal combines the distillery’s elderflower gin with Champagne and edible flowers, offering a memorable toast to mothers.
Family focus
The Secret Garden Distillery, established in 2017, was acquired by a team of two sisters and their mother in 2022.
Mother Kate Armstrong and her daughters, Imogen and Isobel, have elevated the distillery to a place where nature, family, and craft converge to produce exceptional, all-natural Scottish gins.
Isobel said: “Our mum has always been an inspiration to us. Growing up watching her build her first business was formative in giving us the self-confidence and determination to undertake the task of running a company.
“The importance she placed on culture, work-life balance, and having fun in the workplace has shaped the work environment we have so carefully cultivated at the distillery.”
Kate reflected on her daughters’ contributions: “Imogen’s commitment to sustainability has changed the way I look at suppliers. Instead of focusing solely on pricing and service options, I now prioritise their green initiatives.
“It is such a privilege to watch my daughters navigate this work environment. It’s rare for a parent to see their children take on such roles, and it fills me with immense pride to see them excel.”
Secret Garden’s family-led vision is reflected in its gins, which are made with botanicals hand-harvested from the distillery’s own garden.
