K Bar celebrates Cartier with jewel-inspired cocktails
By Rupert HohwielerLondon’s The K Bar will launch a special menu of cocktails inspired by luxury French jeweller, Maison Cartier, in April.

Created by bar manager Adrian Gonzalez-Parrondo, The Hidden Gems menu consists of four bejewelled cocktails, which each take after a different gemstone.
Parrando developed the menu as a homage to the Cartier exhibition which is being held at South Kensington’s V&A gallery in April.
The K Bar is located within the Kensington Hotel, which is a short walk away from the gallery.
On the menu, the Diamant pays tribute to the diamond. Priced at £35 (US$45), it combines Champagne with Beluga Gold Line Vodka, and is served over a diamond-shaped ice cube.

The Émeraude then takes after the emerald and is made by blending Gunpowder Irish Gin with pandan. Pandan brings fragrance to the drink, while the gin complements it with a touch of bright citrus. It is priced at £18 (US$23).
The cocktail also sports a vibrant green hue, which the bar said ‘encapsulates the essence of screen sirens and heiresses who have adorned themselves with Cartier’s emerald creations throughout history’.
The third of the four cocktails, Rubis, embodies the ruby gem. The bar noted that it does this by combining La Hechicera Rum, Campari and red vermouth with a burst of mango. Like the Émeraude, it is also priced at £18 (US$23).
Lastly, the Amethyst is a non-alcoholic apéritif that takes after the gem of the same name. The name itself is from Ancient Greek mythology and is said to mean ‘a remedy against intoxication’.
It pairs botanical notes of butterfly pea flower tea. with the sweetness of white peach and jasmine. This combination of ingredients has given the serve a violet colour scheme. It is priced at £14 (US$18).
The menu will be available from the beginning of April.
