K Bar cocktail menu offers ‘taste tour through Europe’

Kensington Hotel’s K Bar has created a new drinks menu, called Terroir, inspired by different European wine regions.

Each drink on K Bar’s Terroir menu is inspired by one of Europe’s wine regions

Developed by K Bar bar manager Salvatore Maggio and master of wine Anne McHale, each cocktail on the menu was designed to “showcase the characteristics of different wines”.

The menu includes the 45th Parallel, which was inspired by Bordeaux and its “gravelly, humid maritime climate”. The cocktail is made with Rémy Martin VSOP Cognac, Evangelista Ratafia liqueur, Syrah jus, blackberry and citrus.

Drinkers can also sample the Meursault-inspired Vineyard to Vineyard, which is made with Villa Ascenti gin, Chardonnay jus, vanilla, marmalade, pear and salty celery, and the Float On, influenced by the region of Rioja and made with Bulleit Bourbon, Carpano Antica Formula Vermouth, grapefruit, cranberry, Rioja, blackberry and almond.

Maggio said: “I am delighted to be launching the new Terroir Menu and can’t wait for our guests to take a taste tour through Europe, to sample our innovative new cocktails and explore the flavours that are impacted by some of the world’s most celebrated terroirs”.

Alongside cocktails inspired by Europe’s wine regions, the bar bites offering at K Bar has also been updated to reflect its new cocktail list.

While enjoying the Terroir cocktail menu, drinkers can also sample small plates such as chickpea panisses influenced by Provence and Padrón peppers with smoked paprika bread crumbs inspired by the region of Rías Baixas.
