Himkok celebrates 10th anniversary with takeover series
By Lauren BowesOslo-based cocktail bar Himkok is to mark its 10th birthday with a three-day celebration on 4-6 April.

The programme features a series of takeovers from Himkok alumni and friends, as well as panel discussions exploring the evolution of cocktail culture over the bar’s 10-year tenure.
Himkok was founded in 2015 by Erk Potur. On a day-to-day basis, it is run by long-standing bar manager Maroš Dzurus and head of R&D Paul Voza.
Potur said: “We’re incredibly grateful for the journey that Himkok has had over the past 10 years. It’s been an honour to be part of this industry, and we can’t wait to celebrate with everyone who has supported and contributed to our adventure.”
The bar is dedicated to creating ‘guest-focused’ drinks that highlight Nordic ingredients while using many of the in-house spirits produced at the bar’s distillery.
The first night will see bars from across Scandinavia descend on Himkok, in a takeover series sponsored by Anora. Guests will include Hampus Thunholm of Röda Huset in Stockholm; Hedda Bruce of Tjoget in Stockholm; Peter Altenburg of Bird in Copenhagen; and Øyvind Lindgjerdet of the Britannia hotel in Trondheim.
The following evening, sponsored by Pernod Ricard’s Sip programme, will welcome guests from further afield, including Hong Kong’s Bar Leone and The Opposites, Athens’ Line and The Clumsies, and Bangkok’s Bar Us. Each team will take over one of the bars within Himkok’s multifaceted space.
Roundtable discussions, also sponsored by Sip, will be led by Sandrae Lawrence, the co-founder of The Cocktail Lovers.
The closing night of the series will be dedicated to the bar’s alumni and industry icons, including Moe Aljaff of Schmuck and Monica Berg of Tayēr + Elementary, as well as Jesper Høst of Bacardi Norway and the co-founders of Oslo-based bar design agency Behind Bars, Alex Ruas and Sam Millen.
Dzurus added: “We couldn’t be more excited to celebrate reaching the 10-year milestone this April. Himkok wouldn’t be where it is today without our incredible team, partners, and the people who have shown up for us over the years.
“This celebration is our way of giving back – honouring our journey and the pillars that define us: a deep appreciation for cocktail craftsmanship, Norway’s rich landscape, and the spirit of collaboration.”
