Launched in 2019, Avallen champions sustainability

The partnership is said to reflect both companies’ passion for quality, sustainability and ‘a fresh approach to the drinks industry.’

Stephanie Jordan-Balmforth, CEO of Avallen Spirits, said: “At Avallen, we believe the future of the drinks industry lies in delicious liquids that are good for people and the planet. As a B Corp-certified brand, sustainability is at the heart of everything we do, from our apples to our advocacy.

“We’re thrilled to continue to build Avallen in Denmark in partnership with Sprit & Co, a company that shares our commitment to progress, quality, and purpose-driven brands. Together, we’re not just delivering exceptional Calvados – we’re helping to reshape the industry for the better, one sip at a time.”

Launched in 2019 by Jordan-Balmforth and Tim Etherington-Judge, Avallen is known for its commitment to sustainability, from its bee-friendly ethos to its climate-positive credentials.

Jesper Skov, brand manager at Sprit & Co, commented: “We are always looking for brands that combine craftsmanship with a commitment to making a difference. Avallen embodies everything we believe in – a delicious spirit with a meaningful and genuine mission based on craftsmanship and values that align with our idea of the industry and collaboration. We can’t wait to work with Stephanie and Tim in Denmark.”

The Calvados is made with apples without added sugar, caramel or concentrates and is aged in French oak barrels for two years.

Last year, the brand launched a consultancy dedicated to fostering sustainability within the drinks and hospitality industries.

In October 2024, Avallen celebrated World Calvados Week by deepening its commitment to sustainability and the environment.
