What’s in the official Oscars 2025 cocktails?
By Lauren BowesWhether you’re backing Conclave or Wicked, there’s a serve for every taste at this year’s Oscars after party.

Tequila brand Don Julio has been named as a partner of the Governors Ball, the official party thrown by the Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences following the Oscars ceremony, which this year will take place on 2 March.
To make the event even more star-studded, the Diageo-owned brand has partnered with mixologist Charles Joly and Handshake Speakeasy in Mexico City, which topped North America’s 50 Best Bars list last year.
“Each cocktail gets the star-studded treatment with Tequila Don Julio at the foundation, offering depth and complexity combined with elegance and refinement that makes each drink worthy to toast to the night with,” said Joly. “This occasion is often referred to as ‘Hollywood’s biggest night’ and we take that to heart. It’s an incredible honour for us to show up with celebratory cocktails made just for that night.”

Joly and the Handshake team will prepare 1,200 limes, 25,000 espresso beans and 1,000 apples for this year’s round of serves. The Golden Age Gimlet was created by Handshake Speakeasy and features Don Julio Blanco, pineapple juice and lime, while Joly’s The Clear Winner blends Don Julio Reposado with lime and grapefruit juices, tamarind and hibiscus tea.
Also on offer at the party are the Standing Ovation, which spotlights Don Julio’s Alma Miel expression, and The Class Act, which features Don Julio 1942.
Those hosting Oscars viewing parties can join in the fun by shaking up the Golden Age Gimlet or The Clear Winner for their guests, with the full recipes below – though we imagine you won’t need 1,200 limes.
As always, the Oscars ceremony will take place in Los Angeles, which earlier this year was ravaged by wildfires. To support the city, Don Julio has partnered with LA artists of Mexican heritage: Salomón Huerta, Thalía Gochez and Francisco Mora.
The trio have each created a unique artwork piece designed as a ‘love letter’ to LA, which will be auctioned on Charitybuzz.com.
The funds raised will be donated to Another Round, Another Rally’s Disaster Relief Fund, which provides support to hospitality workers impacted by the wildfires.
The effort is part of the Tequila brand’s US$500,000 pledge to ongoing recovery and relief efforts for LA’s community.
