Sazerac offers rare Bourbons for California wildfire relief
Buffalo Trace owner Sazerac has launched a fundraiser in support of the California wildfire recovery effort, with some of its most prized Bourbons up for grabs.
With all proceeds going to World Central Kitchen and Another Round, Another Rally – two non-profit organisations aiding the ongoing relief efforts for those affected by the wildfires – the programme consists of three prizes.
The first is an auction of the first-ever single barrel of Pappy Van Winkle 15 Year Old.
There is also a sweepstake for a complete bottle set of the Pappy Van Winkle Bourbon Collection, and a second sweepstake for a bottle of Buffalo Trace Distillery’s Eagle Rare 25, which is the oldest expression released from the Eagle Rare portfolio.
The fundraiser will run until 11.59pm EST on Sunday 23 February.
World Central Kitchen has worked with more than 80 restaurants and food trucks throughout Southern California to provide hot meals to people affected by the fires – an initiative that has resulted in more than 600,000 meals for those in need since the fires first broke out in early January 2025.
Meanwhile, Another Round, Another Rally has created the Disaster Relief Fund, which provides real-time financial support to hospitality workers impacted by the wildfires. Since the start of the wildfires, the fund has raised more than US$100,000 for affected bar and restaurant workers.

“Through this programme we hope, humbly, to offer a small bit of aid to World Central Kitchen and Another Round, Another Rally as they continue their much-needed support of the California community during this difficult time.”

Bidding for Pappy Van Winkle 15 Year Old starts at US$10,000, with bids increasing in increments of US$1,000. For sweepstake entries, entrants receive one entry for every US$50 donation made through the registration site. There is no limit on donations.
The winners of each prize will be randomly drawn and notified via phone and email the week of 3 March.
The wildfires broke out in early January and have wreaked havoc across the California region, burning through more than 50,000 acres of land, destroying more than 16,000 buildings and taking the lives of at least 28 people.
Bacardi has also thrown support behind the response effort.
Sazerac previously launched a whiskey auction in aid of the relief effort for Hurricanes Milton and Helene last October.
