Ole Smoky to open South Carolina distillery in 2026
By Rupert HohwielerTennessee-based Ole Smoky has partnered with Yee-Haw Brewing to build a new distillery in South Carolina, pencilled in for a 2026 opening.

The moonshine and whiskey maker has partnered with beer maker Yee-Haw Brewing Co on the concept, which will double as a distillery and a brewery to support the production of the two brands.
Located inside Broadway at the Beach, in the heart of Myrtle Beach, the shared facility is anticipated to open in the spring of 2026. The new location will replicate the brand’s existing 6th & Peabody facility in Nashville.
Multidisciplinary firm LSP3 has been hired as the lead architect, while local company Monteith Construction will take charge of the building work.
The venue will occupy both indoor and outdoor spaces, with key features including a beer garden, full-service distillery, tasting rooms, guided tours and food and beverage offerings. Additionally, there will be spaces dedicated for concerts, festivals and private events.
Due to its location in Broadway at the Beach – dubbed the area’s ‘premiere shopping, dining and entertainment’ destination – both brands hope the facility will become a must-visit attraction.
Joe Baker, founder of Ole Smoky Distillery and Yee-Haw Brewing, said: “This vacation destination’s passion for great beverages and world-class entertainment makes it the perfect place for us to share our traditions and craft.
“We look forward to offering an experience that’s as rich and distinctive as our beer and spirits.”
Ole Smoky was established in 2010 in Tennessee, a year after the state’s Prohibition-era alcohol laws were reversed to allow the production of distilled spirits.
Its products are now produced at four distilleries across Tennessee: The Holler, and The Barrelhouse in Gatlinburg; The Barn in Pigeon Forge; and 6th & Peabody in Nashville.
Its peanut butter-flavoured whiskey was a Master medal winner at The Spirits Business’s American Whiskey Masters 2023 blind tasting competition.
Among various Tennessee locations, Yee-Haw beer is also made at the 6th & Peabody site in Nashville.
There were more than 5.7 million recorded visitors to Ole Smoky distilleries in 2021, which are some of the most visited in the States.
In 2022, the brand sold a majority share to private equity company Apax Partners, and through a partnership with private investment platform Patricof, counts a host of professional athletes among its investors – such as former American football stars Jason Kelce and Randal Cobb.
