Island Rum Brands heads to Germany
By Miona MadsenSpanish company Island Rum Brands has partnered with Kammer-Kirsch to launch its Cuban rums, Black Tears and La Progresiva, in Germany.

Through the new partnership, both Cuban rum brands will be available on the German market starting this month (February 2025).
Kammer-Kirsch Distillery in Karlsruhe, Germany, was established in 1909.
The company has imported high-quality spirits to Germany for more than three decades and covers all distribution channels nationwide.
Helena Zakmane, international commercial and marketing director of Island Rum Brands, said: “It is impossible to overestimate the significance of the German market for the rum category.
“For our brands, this launch is a particularly important milestone, as we are entering one of the biggest but also most challenging markets in Europe.”
Black Tears will be offered through all distribution channels.
La Progresiva, on the other hand, will focus on speciality retail and the on-trade, with particular attention on pairing the rum with Cuban cigars.
Last July, La Progresiva partnered with Habanos sommelier Yanelis López Sánchez to provide cigar-pairing recommendations.
Black Tears and La Progresiva will join the Kammer-Kirsch stand, M45 in Hall 5, at ProWein on 16-18 March in Düsseldorf, Germany.
Last year, Black Tears reported an 84% increase in sales and expanded its distribution worldwide, including in Australia, Kazakhstan, and global travel retail.
