Black Tears lands in Kazakhstan
By Miona MadsenIsland Rum Brands has partnered with distributor Force Trade Service to launch Black Tears Dry Spiced Rum in Kazakhstan.

The premium dry spiced Cuban rum brand debuted in Kazakhstan in December 2024.
In partnership with Force Trade Service, Black Tears is now available in several upscale on-trade venues in Almaty, such as Mad Murphy’s, Frau Irma, and Harat’s Pub.
The importer has more than 12 years of experience in alcoholic and soft drinks distribution with trading teams in all major cities in Kazakhstan, outreach to all sales channels, as well as a 5,000-square-metre storage facility.
Denis Postrigan, commercial director of Force Trade Service, commented: “We see important potential for Black Tears in Kazakhstan, and we are thrilled to welcome this amazing rum into our portfolio.
“Consumers in our market will surely appreciate the unique, very different taste profile of this spiced rum and will enjoy the beautiful packaging of the product.”
Black Tears is available through all distribution channels, focusing on Spiced Cuba Libre serve.

It is a market with one of the world’s most rapidly growing rum categories, and young consumers are open to trying new things.”
According to IWSR Drinks Market Analysis data, Kazakhstan’s rum category grew 24% from 2018-2023, and a further 12% increase is projected between 2023-2028.
According to Nielsen statistics last year, the spiced rum brand saw an 84% increase in the UK’s multiple grocery channels in 12 months.
The rum brand expanded its distribution last year by launching in Australia, and with a more prominent presence in travel retail.
