Cocuy Saroche lands in Greece
By Miona MadsenDUG Group has partnered with Piraeus-based distributor Concepts to launch its Venezuelan agave spirit, Cocuy Saroche, in Greece.

After participating in Athens Bar Show last November, Cocuy Saroche has launched in Greece.
The brand, which uses Cocui Trelease agave, has for years collaborated with local communities to plant pineapples alongside its agave fields, creating a sustainable agricultural system that benefits the plants and the soil, preventing erosion and strengthening the ecosystem.
At Athens Bar Show, the brand experience centred around the unique pineapple tradition, offering attendees an opportunity to witness the roasting of the fruit on a vertical spit, inspired by traditional Greek gyros.
Cocuy Saroche is committed to strengthening its distribution network and ‘delivering authentic and memorable experiences’.
Earlier this year, the brand launched in Italy in partnership with Compagnia dei Caraibi.
In the US, it became the first Venezuelan agave spirit to be imported into the country, initially with a presence in South Florida through a partnership with Breakthru Beverage Group.
At The Tequila & Mezcal Masters 2024, Cocuy Saroche was recognised with a Silver medal.
DUG Group is an independent Ibero-American family-owned company that was founded in 1959 and produces a wide range of spirits, including Venezuelan rum Diplomático.
Last year, The Spirits Business interviewed José Rafael Ballesteros Meléndez, CEO of DUG Group, to learn more about Cocuy Saroche.
