Rosewood Phnom Penh will aim to shine a spotlight on its ‘pioneering’ beverage programme via a two-day ‘one-of-a-kind cocktail extravaganza’, as it commemorates its seventh anniversary.

The five-star hotel, which opened in 2018, says the event will aim to serve as a celebration of its achievements and milestones, as well as a reflection of the venue’s journey as a leader in hospitality and culinary excellence.

The inaugural cocktail festival will take place on 7 and 8 February 2025 at Sora, the hotel’s rooftop lounge and whisky bar located on the 37th floor.

The festival will feature seven guest mixologists hailing from top bars around the globe, alongside seven local talents, each showcasing their signature creations at Sora.

With 14 guest bartender shifts over two days, Rosewood Phnom Penh aims to create a vibrant atmosphere that positions the cocktail festival as a landmark annual celebration.

“As we reflect on seven transformative years, we remain steadfast in our dedication to creating immersive culinary experiences and meaningful global connections,” said Daniel Simon, managing director of Rosewood Phnom Penh.

“A fitting tribute to the hotel’s journey, our upcoming cocktail festival embodies our commitment to excellence, and we look forward to commemorating this milestone together.”

Alchemy of Anime menu

Sora Bar has also unveiled a new cocktail menu, which invites guests to embark on a unique culinary and cocktail journey inspired by the enchanting universe of Japanese manga.

The Alchemy of Anime menu made its debut last week (21 January), and has been created by KT Lam, bar manager at Sora Bar, in collaboration with the bar’s team, to reflect the spirit of manga characters while infusing the ‘rich essence’ of Japanese heritage with the ‘dynamic future’ of Cambodia.

Each cocktail pays tribute to iconic manga characters, drawing inspiration from their traits, adventures, and symbolism.

Rooted in the traditions of Japanese heritage, the menu also incorporates artistic elements that embody the forward-looking spirit of Cambodia, creating a unique fusion that reflects both cultures.

“We wanted to create something extraordinary that speaks to the soul of Japanese manga while celebrating Cambodia’s evolving identity,” said Lam. “Every drink on this menu is more than simply a cocktail – it’s a character brought to life in a glass.”

Alchemy of Anime features a curated selection of signature cocktails and dishes that aims to transport guests to the vibrant world of Japanese manga.

Each item on the menu is said to tell its own story, blending bold Japanese flavours with locally inspired ingredients to create an immersive and memorable experience.

Serves include the Pirate Hunter, made with Nikka Coffey vodka, shiso, yuzu sake, lime, Cointreau, rice and beer, as well as the Z Ball, made with a spirit base of 1800 Cristalino Tequila, olive, elderflower, edamame, lime, and firewater. All serves are priced at US$12.

“This menu is a testament to the teamwork and artistry that defines Sora Bar,” added Lam. “From conceptualising the character-inspired cocktails to refining the balance of flavours, our team truly embraced the challenge of transforming imagination into reality.”
