England-based Tarquin’s Gin has unveiled its fourth annual Thirsty Thursday series of weekly limited edition gin releases.

The Cornish distillery has launched a six-week campaign that will see the release of one new experimental, small-batch gin every Thursday to celebrate the festive season.

Each gin has been created by founder and master distiller Tarquin Leadbetter.

Inspired by autumn and Christmas, the Thirsty Thursday series showcases Leadbetter’s ‘passion for flavour innovation’ and his commitment to ‘pushing the boundaries of traditional craft gin.’

Leadbetter said: “I am so proud of our new Thirsty Thursday series. To launch six new gins back-to-back each week is no mean feat. It’s a testament to how agile we are as a craft distillery.

“Together with my NPD (new product development) team, we brainstorm, develop and perfect truly unique spirits at speed. My famous 250-litre flame-fired copper pot stills – Senara, Tressa and Tamara II –are smaller than average, but perfect for crafting these small-batch releases.

“Thirsty Thursdays mark the countdown to Christmas at distillery HQ, as a medley of seasonal fruits, winter spices, and festive aromas fill the air. These ultra-rare launches are a fantastic way for us to delight our loyal fans and celebrate the end of a busy 2024. The campaign gives us incredible insight into future flavour trends, which we exclusively share with our trade customers.”

Leadbetter concluded: “In fact, some of our best-selling core range spirits started as Thirsty Thursday releases, including Tarquin’s Blood Orange Gin in 2020, and Tarquin’s Black Cherry Gin in 2021.”

Each new release will be available exclusively through the Tarquin’s website and gin shops, as well as select independent retailers.

The 2024 Thirsty Thursday series has so far seen the release of Toffee Apple, Cinnamon Bun, and Fig & Honey gins in October.

Sugar Plum (7 November), Gingerbread (14 November), and Satsuma & Spice (21 November) are still to come.

Earlier this year, Tarquin’s unveiled a limited edition Wonderful World Gin exclusively for London Gatwick Airport, and partnered with London’s Holborn Dining Room to create a gin for Negronis.
