Tarquin’s creates gin for Negronis
Cornwall-based Tarquin’s Gin has released an expression designed for making Negronis in partnership with London’s Holborn Dining Room.
Released to mark World Gin Day tomorrow (8 June), the new Ultimate Negroni Gin is the second limited edition expression from Tarquin’s and Holborn Dining Room, located in the Rosewood London hotel.
It was developed over two years by Tarquin Leadbetter, founder and master distiller at Tarquin’s Gin, and the team at Holborn Dining Room.
Created to ‘elevate the classic Negroni to new heights’, the gin carries an aroma of fresh citrus, bay leaf and peppercorn, alongside flavours of clementine zest and spice.
It was distilled with spiced orange, bay leaf and lemon thyme in small batches at the brand’s Southwestern Distillery on the Cornish coast.
“We are so proud to release our second limited edition in partnership with the incredible Holborn Dining Room,” said Leadbetter.
“This super-special gin is a testament to our shared passion for creativity and craftsmanship. It’s the perfect way to celebrate World Gin Day and the timeless art of the perfect Negroni.”
The brand’s recommended Negroni serve combines 25ml of the new gin, 25ml of Cocchi di Torino Sweet Vermouth and 25ml Campari, alongside an orange wedge for garnish.
The Holborn Dining Room Tarquin’s Limited Edition Summer Gin can be purchased from Rosewood London’s online shop and the Tarquin’s Gin website for £58 (US$74) per 700ml.
The 47% ABV gin is also available in cocktails served at The Gin Bar in Holborn Dining Room.
The new gin follows the launch of Southwestern Distillery’s debut release in the flavoured vodka segment in March.
