ABK6 launches Lunar New Year Cognac
Family-owned brand ABK6 Cognac has unveiled a second limited-edition cuvée to celebrate Chinese New Year, and the Year of the Snake.
For the occasion, the owner of the award-winning Cognac, Francis Abecassis, and cellar master, Frédéric David, selected eaux-de-vie known for their aromatic richness, aged in the estate’s oldest casks.
The limited-release VSOP expression is said to offer rich, candied aromas of spices and pastries on the nose, followed on the palate by notes of gingerbread and almond paste.
The bottle design continues in the spirit of the Dragon Edition from 2024 and has been created in collaboration with Chinese artists Qiaolong Huang and Bingna Xu.
2025’s zodiac animal is the snake and artists’ design reflects this with an engraved snake amid vine leaves.
Red, a symbolic colour in China, evokes luck and prosperity for the year ahead. The green vine leaves echo the Cognac terroir. At the same time, the yellow, associated with wealth and tradition, represents the ‘ancestral expertise of the cuvée’.
With 410 hectares of vineyards, Abecassis is one of the largest independent producers of Cognac and owns three other Cognac brands: Reviseur, Leyrat and Brands Domaines.
In 2024, ABK6 Cognac expanded its distribution to the Jamaican market and created an expression, White Cognac, exclusively for the US.
