Żubrówka debuts canned soda
By Lauren BowesSoda Żu is a ready-to-drink (RTD) product made with Polish Żubrówka Bison Grass vodka.
The RTD joins the brand’s flagship vodka, Biała vodka and Fresh Żu line of flavoured vodkas. It also offers Czarna, a premium wheat vodka made from the ‘highest-quality grains’, which had its packaging redesigned last year.
The new canned drink is flavoured with fresh apple and carbonated, with the brand stating it is the ‘perfect choice for hot days’. Each 330ml can sits at 4.5% ABV.
A spokesperson for the brand said: “Żubrówka, for years associated with top quality and unique taste, continues its traditions while innovating to meet changing consumer expectations. Soda Żu is an excellent example of how classic flavours can be adapted to modern needs, creating a product that combines convenience and modernity.”
Last year, Żubrówka joined forces with craft brew club Beer52 to release a limited edition beer.
Żubrówka was the third-best-selling vodka in the world last year, according to The Brand Champions 2024 report.
In November 2021, Roust sold Żubrówka, along with eight other Polish vodka brands, to food firm Maspex in a deal valued at almost US$1 billion.
The distinctive recipe, which flavours vodka with bison grass, dates to as early as 1534 and has been unchanged ever since. ‘Żubrówka’ – meaning bison grass – was registered as a trademark in 1894.
