IBA to digitalise 101 famous cocktails
By Miona MadsenThe International Bartender Association (IBA) has partnered with online platform Cocktail Club to digitalise the IBA Cocktail List.
Cocktail Club offers a comprehensive digital hub for cocktail inspiration, catering to consumers and the drinks industry. It connects consumers with brands through features like its search engine, which pairs bottles with recipes.
The IBA Cocktail List currently features 89 cocktails, which the organisation says are the most requested serves across the world. It includes classic cocktails such as the Negroni, the Old Fashioned and the Margarita, as well as newer serves such as the Paper Plane, the New York Sour and the Naked and Famous.
Through the partnership, IBA and Cocktail Club will provide learning tools for hotels, restaurants and bars to enhance recipe and service knowledge. It expects that increased expertise in these areas will drive revenue growth for on-trade businesses.
Cocktail Club’s user data collection across various channels can also provide valuable insights for the drinks industry.
Launching in early 2025, the product is expected to help predict trends and taste developments in different markets.
On-trade and drinks industry contenders will be able to leverage IBA and Cocktail Club’s expertise in on-trade solutions, content creation, marketing, digital services and social media handling.
The IBA, founded on 24 February 1951 in the saloon of the Grand Hotel in Torquay, England, is an international organisation that represents ‘the most skilled bartenders in the world’.
Cocktail Club was founded in Norway and is owned by Quenched. Its publishing arm, Cocktail Club Production, is based in Barcelona, Spain, and produces content across various platforms, including its website, app and social media channels.
