Bulleit adds 10YO rye to permanent range

The new rye whiskey joins a similarly aged Bourbon as part of the new Bulleit 10-year-old range of whiskeys.

Bulleit 10-Year-Old Rye is bottled at 45.6% ABV

Made from a mash bill of 95% rye and 5% malted barley, Bulleit Rye 10-Year-Old will join the brand’s core lineup, sitting alongside the 10-year-old Bourbon as part of an age statement range.

“Our Bulleit 10-year aged whiskeys showcase the bold, spicy rye-forward flavours that define our brand,” senior brand manager Jenika Newsum said.

“Each expression is a testament to the meticulous craft of ageing and our relentless drive to push the boundaries of American whiskey. We’re excited to introduce these whiskeys and look forward to unveiling even more innovations that reflect our commitment to whiskey craftsmanship.”

Bottled at 45.6% ABV, the 10-year-old rye offers rich caramel and toffee on the nose, with pear, dry oak, and full-bodied vanilla on the palate. It is priced at US$50.

In April, Bulleit reintroduced its limited 12-year-old rye for the first time since 2019, furthering its commitment to the style with the new permanent addition. Meanwhile, in February, the brand unveiled its first American single malt whiskey, aged in charred new American oak.

Rye remains an area for growth, as The Spirits Business reported in August 2023, noting that rye whisky volumes grew by 1,275% between 2009 and 2019.
