Whether you’re looking to impress guests at a garden party or simply enjoy a relaxing afternoon in the sun, these Spritzes are a perfect choice

We recently predicted our picks for the Spritz of the summer, but if you’re simply after something delicious, rather than keeping your eyes on the latest trends, these 10 recipes are sure to keep you cool and refreshed.

Nearly all Spritz recipes are remarkably easy – just build in the glass with ice, with no need for a shaker. That gives you more time and energy to relax in the sun.

Italicus Spritz

Italicus Spritz

Any Spritz can transport you to the Italian coast, but none more so than one made with Italicus apéritif – it’s in the name. This recipe combines the floral essence of Italicus with sparkling wine, with a savoury garnish to round out the palate.

Ingredients:
1 part Italicus
2 parts Prosecco or Champagne
3 green olives to garnish

Method:
Build in a wine glass over ice.

St-Germain Hugo Spritz

St-Germain Hugo Spritz

It was one of our Spritzes to watch this summer, and if you’re making a Hugo Spritz, you’re very likely to be using St-Germain elderflower liqueur. The brand’s official recipe recommends Martini Prosecco, with mint and lime for garnish – though a sprig of elderflower would certainly add to the aesthetic.

Ingredients:
40ml St-Germain elderflower liqueur
60ml Martini Prosecco
60ml Soda water
8-10 Mint leaves
Lime wedge for garnish
Mint sprig for garnish

Method:
Add ice into a wine glass. Pour in St-Germain and add approximately eight mint leaves. Top with sparkling wine and soda water. Stir the drink to combine all of the ingredients. Garnish with a mint sprig and lime wedge.

Everleaf Hugo Spritz

Everleaf Hugo Spritz

If the idea of a light, refreshing Hugo Spritz appeals to you but you’re not so keen on the alcohol content (or are having to call it a day after a few of the originals), this non-alcoholic version from Everleaf is sure to hit the spot.

Ingredients:
50ml Everleaf Marine
20ml Elderflower cordial
10ml Lime juice
90ml Soda or non-alcoholic sparkling wine

Method:
Build the ingredients in a wine glass with ice, and garnish with mint and sliced limes.

Campari Spritz

Campari Spritz

It’s a classic for a reason. Living in the shadow of its more famous sister the Aperol Spritz, the Campari serve has a richer, more intense bitterness – and a more sophisticated hue, if you find the Irn Bru orange a turnoff.

Ingredients:
75ml Prosecco
50ml Campari
25ml Soda water
1 Orange slice and orange zest for garnish

Method:
Fill a rocks glass with ice and pour in the Prosecco and Campari. Add a splash of soda water and lightly stir. Garnish with a slice of orange.

Grand Brulot Coffee Spritz

Grand Brulot Coffee

Can’t decide between an Aperol Spritz and an Espresso Martini? You don’t have to choose. Grand Brulot is a coffee Cognac liqueur that pairs surprisingly well with Aperol for a sophisticated sip that will get you buzzing.

Ingredients:
30ml Grand Brulot cafe liqueur
30ml Aperol
90ml Sparkling wine
Orange wheel, garnish

Method:
Build in a wine glass over ice.

Metaxa

40ml Prosecco or other sparkling wine
20ml Tonic
3 dashes Peach bitters or peach juice

Method:
Pour all ingredients into a wine glass full of ice and stir. Top up with Prosecco and garnish with a peach wedge.

Ingredients:
2 parts Passoã
