Spirits Business Awards celebrates record year

A record number of entries spanning all categories were submitted for The Spirits Business Awards 2024.

The SB Awards will reveal the shortlisted entries in September, with winners to be crowned in November

This year, more than 215 submissions were received, covering all five key areas of the awards: Retail and Marketing, Sustainability and Innovation, Tourism, Products, and People.

For 2024, several new categories were created within those subject areas, including Bar of the Year, Bartender of the Year, and Brand of the Year.

The format for the 2024 awards ceremony has also been overhauled. On 14 November, a black-tie event will celebrate this year’s worthy winners – to be announced by Strictly Come Dancing and Traitors host Claudia Winkleman.

“I was hugely impressed by the standard of this year’s entrants,” said Melita Kiely, editor of The Spirits Business, who chaired the 2024 judging. “Not only were the number of entrants the highest we’ve ever received, but the quality of submissions made many categories extremely tricky to decide.

“Our esteemed judges carefully deliberated over each category and I want to thank each of them for their time and consideration in deciding this year’s winners. I am really looking forward to celebrating with our winners in person in November.”

Each category was judged by independent experts to ensure fair and unbiased assessments of all entrants.

The shortlisted nominees will be revealed on thespiritsbusiness.com in early September.

A number of companies are sponsoring The Spirits Business Awards this year. Sponsors include: Per Se, the official aperitivo partner; Neit Whiskey, sponsor of the Bartender of the Year award; and 9 Meadows, the official non-alcoholic ‘spirit’.

Further sponsorship opportunities remain available. For further information, or to contact team, visit The Spirits Business Awards website.
