Duck & Waffle comes to Dubai

London’s 24/7 drinking and dining hotspot Duck & Waffle will open its first international location in Dubai this November.

Cocktails will take centre stage at a 360-degree ‘chef’s bar’

The Dubai Duck & Waffle will be stationed in a 10,000 square foot space in Dubai International Financial Centre (DIFC) – bringing both its ‘inventive’ cocktails and ‘playful take’ on British and American comfort food to the city.

Shimon Bokovza, CEO and founder of Duck & Waffle, said: “Dubai for me is one of the most exciting cities on this planet. Its diverse culinary scene and vibrant culture make it the perfect city for our next Duck & Waffle adventure as we look to expand our wings overseas.”

Alongside the venue’s signature dishes such as the duck leg confit, guests will be able to enjoy cocktails from a 360-degree chef’s bar. The cocktail menu will ‘embrace both tradition and whimsy, a juxtaposition of nostalgic, classic mixology and fresh, seasonal ingredients’.

There is no word yet on if old favourites like the Reformed Pornstar will make the trip from London.

Meanwhile, the interiors have been put together by New York City-based design firm Icrave. Highlights include an open kitchen, a covered greenhouse dining area, a perforated metal tree surrounded by greenery with views of the Burj Khalifa and a central radiant dome that will serve as the focal point for the main restaurant.

While there are no details on whether the venue will be open 24/7, it will be open for breakfast, lunch, brunch, dinner, and late-night dining. For the latter, an after-hours menu will be available.

Duck & Waffle is being brought to Dubai through CBH Hospitality Group. The group is aiming to keep the essence of the London venue, while also appealing to a new audience.

The group’s CEO, Hadi Aknin, also previously director of operations at Duck & Waffle in London, explained: “While we’re committed to upholding the original tenants of what make Duck & Waffle such a brilliant and unique brand, we’re equally excited to shape its distinct presence in Dubai, taking it to new heights.”
