Extra will launch in the UK this summer, with Harrods serving as the sole retailer. The limited release will be available from 1 July to celebrate the department store’s 175th anniversary.

“Throughout the past 175 years, Harrods has been committed to celebrating the world’s finest, with unparalleled variety, ultimate exclusivity, unique experiences and unsurpassed service. We are delighted to partner with Harrods to launch this very special edition of Extra in the UK,” said Thibaut Hontanx, chief blender at Maison Courvoisier.

The expression offers a ‘deep, intense taste’, which is ‘enhanced by exotic, tart and sharp flavours’. The brand says it pairs well with ‘exotic fruit or tangy dishes’.

Courvoisier Extra Harrods edition features a design by Clym Everden, a London-based artist and art director known for his ink-based style.

Evernden’s design for the release offers ‘a visual journey from Jarnac to London’, depicting Maison Courvoisier in Jarnac alongside the iconic façade of the Knightsbridge department store.

“The partnership with Clym Evernden was originally born out of an attraction to his style of illustration. The light, bright, joyful artistry is in keeping with the world we have for Courvoisier,” said Sarah Isaac, head of Suntory Global Spirit brands at Edrington UK.

“He has magnificently brought to life the partnership of Courvoisier and Harrods – a homage to our shared values of celebrating the finest things in life, crafted with mastery, artistry and creative flair, with an unparalleled commitment to excellence.”

The release will be limited to 175 bottles, retailing for £450 (US$576), and exclusively offered at Harrods UK, both in-store and online.

In early May this year, Campari Group completed its purchase of Courvoisier from Suntory Global Spirits in a billion-dollar transaction.
