White Claw debuts Tequila RTDs
By Lauren BowesHard seltzer brand White Claw has created a line of ready-to-drink (RTD) Tequila seltzers called Tequila Smash.

The brand’s flagship hard seltzer range is made with a triple-distilled spirit, although it moved into vodka last year.
The hard seltzer company said that it sources Blue Weber agave for the new range from a family-owned organic farm in Jalisco, Mexico.
It also claims it has invented a way ‘to capture a liquid with the freshest, most aromatic flavours of agave before they’re lost in the Tequila-making process’, which it calls ‘agua dulce’.
There are four flavours in the range – Strawberry Guava, Pineapple Passion Fruit, Mango Tamarind and Lime Prickly Pear – with each measuring 5% ABV.
“White Claw pioneered the RTD category, which continues to be one of the fastest-growing beverage categories and ripe for disruption,” said Phil Rosse, president of Mark Anthony Brands, which owns White Claw.
“Following the success of our White Claw Vodka + Soda launch last year, we seized the opportunity to bring decades of beverage research and flavour innovation to another popular spirit, Tequila.
“Tequila Smash is a revolutionary new way to enjoy a Tequila drink with friends.”
A variety pack of eight 350ml cans will retail for US$18.49 to US$18.99.
