Caribbean rum brand Duppy Share has launched a ready-to-drink (RTD) product with soft drink brand Old Jamaica.

The RTD range launched in UK supermarket chain Waitrose this month

The Duppy Share x Old Jamaica Jamaican Mule is described as ‘the Caribbean in a can’ and blends rum, root ginger from Jamaica, fresh lime and bitters.

It has an ABV of 5% and retails for £2.50 (US$3.15) for a 250ml can.

Duppy Share’s spiced rum blends Jamaican rums from Worthy Park, Clarendon and Hampden distilleries, and is spiced with pineapple, kola nut and more.

Juan Andres Castillo, franchise manager for Beliv, which distributes Old Jamaica, said: “As the leading ginger beer brand in the UK, we understand the pivotal role our product plays as a mixer, especially in the world of rum.

“That’s why we’ve teamed up with Duppy Share, the top seller of premium rum in the UK, to introduce an RTD solution tailored specifically for this mixological occasion.”

The RTD range launched earlier this month (12 March) in UK supermarket chain Waitrose.

Jack Orr-Ewing, CEO of Duppy Share, said: “We’re spicing up the aisles of Waitrose with our Old Jamaica Ginger Beer collab.

“We’re looking forward to a mega summer of activations and events, with our biggest festival schedule yet, and Old Jamaican Mules will be the standout drink for the UK throughout.”

In January, Duppy Share created an RTD with grapefruit soda brand Ting.

The RTD category is predicted to hit US$40 billion by 2027.
