Paris, who is head bartender at Happiness Forgets in London, was crowned as the winner during the UK final, which took place at Stereo in Covent Garden on 27 February.

Ten finalists presented their nineties-inspired cocktails to a panel of judges.

The judges were: bartender Chelsie Bailey; previous UK winner Mia Kumari; Edvinas Rudzinskas of Cocktails for You; and Rudi Carraro, Amaro Montenegro’s global brand ambassador.

Paris impressed the judges with her Elena & The City cocktail. Her recipe included 30ml Amaro Montenegro, 25ml raspberry, celery and green apple cordial, 30ml vodka, and 2.5ml fresh lemon juice.

As the UK winner, Paris has won an Amaro Montenegro residency trip to Italy in April for the global final. She will compete against other finalists for the chance to win an all-expenses-paid trip to New York for Bar Convent Brooklyn 2024.

April’s global final will also offer the chance for finalists to immerse themselves in brand experiences and seminars in Bologna, home of Amaro Montenegro.

In 2022, Ruben Sudmeier was named the winner of Amaro Montenegro’s Vero Bartender cocktail competition.

In other cocktail competition news, at the start of the year, Johnnie Walker unveiled its global cocktail challenge. The contest challenges bartenders to design their best recipes using Johnnie Walker Black Label.
