Alexandrion Group, which produces and distributes spirits and wines in Romania and is the only single malt producer in the country, has teamed up with Jalisco-based Tequila house Casa Aceves to create a suite of premium Tequila brands. The move furthers the group’s global expansion plans and adds a new spirits category to its portfolio.

Both companies will open branches to coordinate and implement the large-scale project, with Alexandrion Group set to distribute the products globally through its international hubs.

“It is always very exciting to bring a new category drink within the Alexandrion Group’s brand portfolio and to go on a new journey alongside experts such as the team at Casa Aceves,” Dr Nawaf Salameh, founding chairman of Alexandrion Group, said.

“Everything about their brand holds true the values within our group of heritage and artisanal quality. It is also another step forward for our ongoing global expansion plans to broaden our product range and offer more diversity to all our end consumers”.

Casa Aceves uses 100% Blue Weber agave grown in the Highlands of Jalisco for its Tequilas.

“We are thrilled to synergise with the Alexandrion Group, a group that values quality, to incorporate our original Tequilas into their global portfolio, thereby re-educating consumers about authentic Tequila,” Jose Aceves, CEO of Casa Aceves, said.

Salameh added: “The Alexandrion Group loves to take on new challenges and opportunities, especially those that reflect the past, offer exceptional quality and provide a route map to the future.”

In February 2023, Alexandrion Group opened a second distillery, adjacent to the group’s first in Prahova County, Romania. The second production site will be used in the distillation of its flagship whisky, Carpathian Single Malt.

In November 2023, the company announced a new distribution company in Japan and plans to explore three ways of producing spirits in the county.
